Livingston Home Renovation
This Family was not new to Remodeling. They had transformed the interior and exterior of their 1960s raised ranch. Fast forward five years later, they were contemplating the idea of adding on to the rear of the home. After analyzing the Budget – they decided to focus their wishlist on a plethora of other Renovation projects throughout.
They knew exactly what they wanted to accomplish. AFGC was hired to manage Phase 2 which included the Basement Bathroom, Workout Room, windows, Garage Renovation, and exterior items including the removal of a fenced-in Garden, Gutter Maintenance, exterior Power Washing and Painting, Electric throughout and installation of Home Exterior Signage.
We installed new Kolbe windows in front of the home to complete and match the other windows. The interior finishes around the windows were matched to the existing finishes to create a crisp and clean line. The only challenge was the Powder Room window wall. We were able to connect with the original Faux artist to make this wall complete again. Adding (3) 4’x7′ glass stationary panels to the eat-in Kitchen area created a wonderful exterior presentation however the result on the interior was even more dramatic. The open area truly makes you feel like you are outside. The installation of the new Sub Zero Fridge/Freezer to replace the shorter existing units came with its own set of challenges. The original units were trimmed
with Cherry surround to match the Kitchen Cabinets. We carefully removed the old units and dismantled the surround soa new opening could be built. The salvaged surround was modified and reinstalled around the new units to maintain the Kitchen cohesiveness.
The lower level had a dated full Bathroom with a window in the tub area overlooking the driveway. Our client opted to have the window sealed up for privacy and functionality. We decided that the window space was perfect for a shower niche. The tile, fixtures, and hardware selections transformed the space. Although this space was not meant for active use being a Basement Bathroom, our Client’s goal was attained in giving it the update it needed.
The Garage yearned for an organization from the chaos. To start the change, we installed LED Lighting throughout the space to remove shadow areas. The epoxy painted floor and the freshly painted walls and ceiling gave the Garage a brand new look. Finally, we installed custom steel Cabinets including a workstation. A special diamond plated slat wall was installed for Garden tools and Bikes to complete the conversion from Garage to Showroom.
A large room in the Basement was a perfect spot for a Home Gym. A large gliding window facing the rear yard accomplished two very important features for any space but particularly for a Basement – fresh air and natural light. The nearly wall to wall mirror magnified the natural light into the workout area. The room was complete with additional LED Lighting, a free-standing TV, and an oscillating fan.
